Tuition

Future artists from both Hungary and abroad can take part in the work of Opera Viva Studio. Tuition comprises individual and group lessons as defined in the curriculum. Subjects of instruction:

- analysis, musical dramaturgy
- relationship between music and words; pronunciation, singing and acting
- role practice, stage practice
- vocal performance: songs, opera, other vocal genres
- knowledge of styles
- moving on the stage
- costume and make-up

During the terms, students can appear in public concerts and, at the end of the scholastic year, they can take part in a chamber opera production. (These concerts and performances, together with the necessary rehearsals, function as parts of the professional training, therefore students receive no fee for their appearance.) At the end of the second term ordinary students will be given a written assessment of their work and results from the tutorial board. All students receive a certificate of attendance. There is no compulsory vocal training within the Opera Studio. Students can continue their studies with their earlier vocal teachers. If students need help, however, the Opera Studio will advise them to contact vocal teachers and will continuously control their common activities.
